Katakiriha-zukuri Wakizashi with Double-Sided Horimono
This mumei Shinshintō wakizashi is forged in katakiriha-zukuri, an uncommon construction that gives the blade a bold and distinctive appearance. The blade is exceptionally wide and thick, with a notably substantial kasane, resulting in a powerful and confident profile rarely seen in wakizashi of this length.
Both sides of the blade feature beautifully executed horimono, carved with precision and strong balance. The workmanship is clean and well-proportioned, enhancing the blade without distracting from its overall form.
The jigane is highly visible and attractive, showing a rich texture that can be clearly appreciated across the blade surface. Combined with the strong geometry, this wakizashi presents both visual impact and technical interest.
This sword is offered with a Touken Takarado Hozon Guarantee. Should the purchaser wish to submit the blade to NBTHK shinsa, Touken Takarado will be happy to assist with the entire submission process.
A strong option for collectors seeking a Shinshintō wakizashi with uncommon construction, substantial presence, and high aesthetic appeal.
